Kurt Mead’s Workshop/Guiding Information

Got a group of folks that would like a dragonfly workshop or do you want a personal dragonfly guide? I can come to you or I can set up accommodations here near Finland, MN, on the beautiful North Shore of Lake Superior.

Fees:  Roundtrip mileage from Finland MN (at the current IRS rate of 48.5 cents per mile). If you can line up other speaking engagements with other groups nearby, mileage costs can be split.

$125 per day per site.  I am able to do indoor and outdoor programs during my visit using props, nets, slides or PowerPoint

Note: (If I have to pack up and move to a new facility to work with a new group, I consider that a separate program, thus another program fee. At many sites, I will do something like: give an hour long program for kids, followed by a walk to the pond across the street, followed by an adult Q&A session. That is all one program to me.)

Possible program description for print:  “Kurt Mead, author of the NOBA award winning field guide, Dragonflies of the North Woods, and the coordinator for the newly-formed Minnesota Odonata Survey Project, will answer all (or at least most) of your dragonfly and damselfly questions. This will be a hands-on investigation of the lives of these amazing insects through puppets, props, books and real bugs.”
